Introduction

Students will be using a simulation called “Circuit Construction Kit (DC Only)” to perform a series of tasks. Prior to this activity, the students would have been briefly introduced to the concept of current and potential difference. This lesson will be held in the computer lab, and accompanying worksheets will be handed out during the lesson.

Students will be led to the following website: www.qcp521-amodelforcircuits.blogspot.com

Student should be able to accomplish the following by the end of the lesson:

  1. Visualise the concept of current and potential difference
  2. Set up simple DC circuits
  3. Compare relative brightness of bulbs and being able to explain the discrepancies in terms of current and potential difference
  4. Rectify any common preconceptions or alternative conceptions that the students may have about current and potential difference.
